The Certificate IV in Frontline Management is a nationally accredited qualification designed specifically for the first level of management that oversees or manages the actual doing of work.
People in frontline management positions coordinate the work of other employees and report to middle management or directly to senior management / owners. They are therefore central to productivity in the workplace and a key element to an organisation’s success or failure. Unfortunately many of these employees have often had no formal training in management practices.
This course has been specifically designed for team leaders and supervisors in the food and health care industries and is designed to equip these managers with the skills and competencies needed in today’s business climate. As the program has a distinct food and health care industry focus, considerable networking opportunities and industry contacts are established between the participants.
A total of ten (10) units are required to achieve the qualification. A full listing of units is available upon request.
For Example: Food Industry employees may have the following mix of 10 units

Note: The qualification is a stand-alone qualification with no entry prerequisites required.
Duration: The course is run from late January to November, with most subjects being delivered via two-day workshops at approximately six week intervals. A total of 17 days of off-the-job training are required.
Courses may be shortened considerably through students gaining exemption from units, or parts of units, under recognition of prior learning provisions. The main focus of RPL is to determine the student's current level of competency, so that courses can be tailored (and where possible shortened) to gain maximum benefit from each training investment.

Each participant is grouped into a small project team aimed at achieving specific improvements within their workplace in line with their department’s strategic goals. At the conclusion of the course they then have the opportunity to present their findings to management.
In addition, the progress of each project is regularly reviewed following the workshops. Participants are critically questioned in a positive, supportive, professional manner that challenges participants to achieve outcomes. These outcomes are matched against specific elements of the various units of competency within the course and form part of the assessment process.
Participants are assessed progressively with most assignments being required for submission 4 weeks after completion of each unit. Qualified Frontline Management assessors conduct all assessments and provide specific feedback to each participant on their competency.
Additional support for each participant can be provided through the use of industry mentors. Our mentors act as a resource and sounding board for each participant to maximise their learning experience and provide a confidential relationship.
